We had an ice storm this winter....that shut down almost the whole town at some point or another. Very few people did not lose power. It was quite an experience, but one I wouldn't change for anything. We went several days(which means nights) without power, but we made the best of it and piled our whole family in the living room to sleep in front of the fire. The ice was so bad, it snapped several pine trees, causing them to hit the ground, power lines, and some people's houses. Luckily we stayed safe. One thing I did learn is that it is always smart to have a gas stove and fire place. Both were complete life savers for us during these few days. We spent this time making wonderful memories with each other and with some of our favorite neighbors! Jenni and Rayne came over and hung out with us. We enjoyed many wonderful meals with them during the ice storm. Us adults even enjoyed some competitive board game playing!
Our set up....we actually ended up moving Mary Harper to her crib at night and left her door open so the heat from the living room would flow into her room. It seemed to work well!
Rayne and Jeremy fixing some breakfast on the egg....
biscuits and sausage on the egg
Sweet Jenni and Micah helping prepare breakfast.
we spent a lot of time in the car charging cell phones so we could keep up with friends in the neighborhood and around Augusta. It helped us stay in the loop of when the power "might" come back on
Wanting to go outside and play!
some of the many amazing pics Ms. Jenni took of Mary Harper in the "ice"!
