Augusta Playdates

Like I said, we are settling in well and meeting lots of new neighbors and making new friends.  I am so thankful for this smooth transition and for the people God has placed in our lives since we moved here. He had this all planned, all while I was worrying how everything would work out.  Here are a few of our play dates.

This is sweet Kate and Greer painting cards for their dads for Father's Day.  Kate has twin brothers that Greer loves to play with too.  Their names are John and Matthew.  Greer is about a year older than the boys and a year younger than Kate, so he is often torn between Kate and the babies.  Well, they are not babies for much longer, but that is what Greer calls them.  We have really enjoyed getting to know Amanda and Joe(the parents of these precious children).  They have been more than welcoming to us and so helpful as well.  They had us over for dinner recently and it was so nice getting to spend time with their family at their beautiful home!  I think I text Amanda at least every other day with questions about Augusta.  She is always right there with an accurate and helpful answer!  Needless to say, we are so thankful for these neighborly neighbors!  I cannot believe these are the only pictures I have of the Todd family.  We see them a good bit and I am kicking myself for not taking more pictures!

Sweet Boys!

I didn't know what else to title this one, because all I think of when I look at these pictures is what sweet boys they are!  I love them both so much and cannot imagine life without them!  These two are always bonding in some sweet way.  Melt my heart why don't you!!

Poor Buddy!

One of my worst fears happened, and it happened in the car!  Jeremy was working Father's Day weekend, so Greer and I packed up and headed for the pool on a beautiful Saturday morning.  I pulled into the parking lot of the pool and I hear Greer coughing in the back seat.  I turn around and ask him if he is okay and he is throwing up everywhere....and I mean everywhere!  I quickly get him out of the car in case it happens again, and of course it.happens.again!  At least this time it is all over the concrete.  Luckily, there is a sweet girl at the pool who pulls out the hose as far as it will reach so I can attempt to clean up this mess.  I strip Greer down into his diaper and drive back home with all the windows down.  All I kept saying in my head is, "Thank you God for letting him wait until he is a toddler to throw up."  I have always been scared of him getting sick like this as a baby and not being strong enough to handle it!  I of course call my mom first and then the pediatrician.  I really think all moms that are grandparents should qualify as pediatricians, because they know just as much if not more sometimes.  She tells me about the B.R.A.T diet....Bananas, Rice, Apples, Toast and of course good 'ole sprite.  I do as she says and feed him bland foods for the next few days as well as a little gatorade here and there.  The pediatrician tells me not to come in unless he gets worse.  Luckily, he only gets better and all is well since then.  Here are some pictures of Greersy not feeling so well!   I got some great snuggle time while he was sick!  He feel asleep on my chest in the living room, which he has not done since he was a baby.  I was loving every minute of it!

He hasn't taken a paci since he was under a year old and he all of the sudden takes a liking to the thermometer paci.  When he is sick, I'll let him have anything he wants!

Hope making sure he is okay

Pete the Cat

is one of Greer's favorite books!  We read it a good bit.  I caught him reading in his tent one rainy day this week.  Here is his version of Pete the Cat:
"Cat"
"white shoes"
"Oh no"
"Bye bye"
Oh sweet boy!  You warm my heart every day!  As a former kindergarten teacher, I was so excited!  I believe in children learning to love books early, but I believe just as strongly in building confidence in young readers too!  He left out a whole lot of the book, but I wouldn't dare tell him!  I was so proud of him!  This is a dream come true for me in so many ways.  Can't wait until we can do some mini lessons and story extensions.  His attention span is just not there yet.  Oh how I miss teaching sometimes!  I am getting the itch to dig in the attic for some of my big books this week!  Greer has never seen one.  I can't wait to see his reaction!  Here is my little buddy sneaking away to read!

He doesn't go very far without his dump truck!

Little Engineer

Jeremy was hanging up our hose outside.  Greer went over and grabbed the screwdriver the second Jeremy sat it down and starting "fixing" his swing.  I love watching his wheels turn.  Maybe he will be an engineer one day like his daddy!

Mom and Dad's piece of heaven on earth!
Such a precious place we have gathered over the years.
So thankful for being able to bring Greer here in the summertime
to add to the many memories we have made!

And the sweet puppies wanted to join us so bad!

Love this!

Gugga and Grandan!  I wish Grandoll and Paw Paw could have been here to celebrate too!
I would have loved to see how they partied in their younger days.
From what I hear, they knew how to get down!

Jeremy was so helpful!  He took care of Greer and let me know spend
lots of quality time with my family.  So thankful for him!

Pinterest worthy!
