A Day in the Life of Greer

I realized as I was looking through recent pictures that I have a bunch of random pics of my little buddy playing around the house.  I am so glad that research shows that when children are playing they are working and learning, because this little boy plays all day long.  I often wonder what more I should be doing with our time.  I try and read with him, do puzzles, count, play pretend, sing, dance, play-doh, etc.  He seems to love the time we spend playing together, but he also loves his independent play time too.  His wheels are always spinning and he is always up to something fun and adventurous!  Sometimes adventure turns into trouble, but in his mind it is curiosity.  I cannot fault him for trying everything once.  It is pictures like this that remind me how thankful I am to get to spend my days with Greer!
Cooking up something good!  He washed his hands first though.
You can see him turning the handle for the water.

Carrying around his trains in our halloween buckets.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is always more fun on the ipad for some reason.

Working on another masterpiece!

He has to dump out the entire basket to find that one toy he is looking for....
then the wagon becomes a railway for his trains and cars.

Safety Vest

We went out to Family Day at Plant Vogtle on Saturday.  There was so much fun to be had for the little ones.  One of the giveaways was this safety vest, hard hat, and glasses.  Greer was so excited to wear it!

Our first visit to the Colombia Zoo

We finally made it to the zoo.  Unfortunately, Augusta does not have a zoo, so we had to drive to Columbia, South Carolina to visit the Riverbanks Zoo.  It isn't a terrible drive, but it really is when the Birmingham Zoo was less than five minutes from your old house.  Womp! Womp!  Anyway, luckily Ashley and her oldest son Alexander were going, so we rode along with them.  The weather was delightful, as we experienced one of the first glimpses of fall weather.  I was thrilled!  Here are some pictures of Alexander and Greer.  We enjoyed a fun day together.

Picture Day at MDO

This is Greer's first official picture day at school.  I am so excited!  You would think he was going to prom or something.  I debated back and forth over solids or patterns, smocked or monogrammed, longall or shortall.  I could not make up my mind, so I decided to look through his closet and see what we have to work with.  I forgot about this precious brown jon jon.  I bought it last year and he is just now able to wear it.  It fits him perfectly and suits his personality pretty well too.  It couldn't go better with his new boots, which he absolutely adores!  I would love his outfit more with his monogram, but I am having my embroidery machine serviced right now.   Here are a few pics I took before we headed off to school.  I love this boy....with.all.my.heart!!!  "Matuh" of course made his way into the pictures too!  Whatever it takes to get good pictures, I will do!

Good times with good friends!

Our sweet friends Tony & Katie came to visit this past weekend.  They came in late Friday night and we drove to South Carolina to watch The Blazers play USC Saturday afternoon.  They just brought "Cler"(Claire) this time since the game was so late at night.  Can't wait to see the other munchkin, Hannah, in a few weeks at her first birthday party!  It is amazing how much children change so quickly.  I notice it every time we see friends from home that we haven't seen in a while.  We had such a fun weekend relaxing and catching up with each other.  Stinky even joined us on Saturday.  He always makes for some good, sarcastic fun!  Thank you guys for making the drive to come see us!!  We had such a fun weekend!  Take note....Greer is doing everything that Claire does in most all these pictures. So cute!
