Hilton Head

Josh and Aimee planned a trip to Hilton and invited us to come see them.  We were able to get away for a little over twenty four hours, but we made the most of our time with them.  These pictures are real!  They reveal my children's real reaction to the sand....which they both hated!  I will say Mary Harper was feeding off her brother a good bit.  He found some ants...lots of ants actually...in the sand and was done once one of them bit him!  In Mary Harper's defense, she slept for a total of four hours the night before...we have no idea why, but Jeremy and I took turns riding her around in the car at three in the morning.  I have never struggled so much with this child in the middle of the night.  We did enjoy a sweet day on the beach with Josh and Aimee and enjoyed a really fun night exploring the South Beach Marina Area(I think I said that correctly).  We ate at Salty Dogs Restaurant and shopped around the surrounding area.  We drove around after dinner and looked at all the amazing houses!  The beaches are very different from what we are use to, but we really enjoyed visiting a different beach for a change.

"we are in this together Mary Harper...let's scream at the same time!"

two seconds of bravery...I even gave him permission to jump in the puddle

the boys...they didn't say it, but they were totally done at this point!
they came to meet us girls on the beach with the kids and we were headed back to the room to change.
we went and changed the little ones and let them eat breakfast away from the traumatizing sand...
before we took them right back out there.

would NOT let his feet touch the sand

Sweet brothers spending time together... I love their relationship with each other!

Digging for shark teeth...i think we are at the wrong beach for that

Adios summer....hopeful that next year will be better!
